Sydney, Australia - Day 3.

Way to the show:

After a 4 hour-nap, me and the polish buds got up to catch our flight to Sydney. I couldn't feel my legs, I took a look at the mirror and I was full of bruises in my arms, elbows, chest and knees. Completely fucked up, but I had to keep moving. We took a taxi and got to the airport on time. I still had my kicks wet so I was kinda worried about it, unfortunately I didn't have enough space in my bag to bring another pair.

I slept during the whole flight. I also noticed that most of the passengers were going to Soundwave as well, so there were good vibes on the plane.

Once we got to Sydney, we took the train to the nearest station were Piotr and Kasia were staying. Almost 18 dollars a single fare. RATS. We couldn't find the hotel so we just took a break in Macca's and had breakfast. I just got a muffin, wasn't that hungry.

Piotr told me that they would take my stuff to their hotel so I could go to the festival site right away. So I did, I just picked up my ticket, the 3-days-in-the-making sign and my old lovely drumstick.

I got to the festival area ten minutes before 11 am. I went through ticket control, they asked for my ID but I wasn't carrying it, so I had to go to a tent to get a special wristband allowing me to get in. There was a huge line which I, obviously, skipped and got my you're-allowed-to-get-in-wristband.Then went through ticket control again and they let me in by putting the festival wristband on. I was happy enough with not having problems entering with my old rusty drumstick. So I head over to the main stage which was placed in the ANZ Stadium. I was in a hurry in order to get there and meet Mikiko, my japanese friend who was waiting for me. There was such a long walking distance from the main entry to the stadium, but once I got there, I noticed there was an age limit to get to the front of the stage. I was obviously screwed. I tried to convince the security guards but most of them didn't even listen. I was so pissed off, they were asking for a pink-over-18 wristband and I had a gray one. Things weren't good at all. I was desperately trying to find a way out of it and, fortunately, I remembered that I had a photo of my american visa on my phone. Full of hope I head over the main entry again and asked for the pink wristband, they asked for my passport again and I told them that I just had a photo of it and that I haven't been able to bring it because it got all wet after Brisbane show (which was actually true) they said it wasn't enough and that I had to talk to other security guard, so that's what I did and she made me talk to another security guard (at that time, I was obviously about to cry). I carefully explained the whole situation to the guard and he was feeling sorry about me, I showed him my american visa photo and the over-18 Brisbane wristband. He was looking convinced, so he just ask somebody else and said that it was okay, he got the pink wristband for me and that was it. Mission accomplished. It certainly was a pain in the ass, though.

Once inside:

I made my way to the rail. Met Mikiko, but didn't have the chance to talk to her cause there were people in between of us. Such a shame.

Later on the day, someone just grabbed me from behind and it was Nicole, facebook friend, pretty nice girl, we spent the whole day on the rail, struggling with the hardcore pushing behind us during Bullet For my Valentine and Stone Sour's set lists. Fucking hell. She had a sign For James asking For an armband, i was 100% sure she was gonna get it as she told me about her M&G experience with James which seemed pretty cool.

Later on the day, Farzad made it to the rail. After a while he just got kicked out, I still dont know why. Security guards said that he was pushing and that wasn't true, really. Ange got to the rail a few seconds later. After A Perfect Circle's set list. Farzad made it to the rail again but he got kicked out again. Such a shame, we couldnt do anything about it and it was frustrating.

After the show:

Sydney show was amazing. The set list is now one of my favorites ever! I finally got BBS! I fucking sang my heart out, it was great, powerful and amazing, even though they fucked up the intro HA! Wasn't expecting Orion at all, amazing as well. The best thing was that people behind didn't push that much as in Brisbane so I had the chance to enjoy the songs and the concert. The boys were just amazing, they played like fucking gods with such an epic set list.

When Seek finished, Lars came out and stood just in front of me, I showed him the 3-days-in-the-making-sign asking for a drumstick exchange, as he was holding his cup, he offered me a drink and I got spit on 3 times. Everyone including him were just laughing at me cause I was the only one opening my mounth with such a big enthusiasm, so it was funny.

Then he came a bit forward getting ready to throw the drumstick but I went quicker than him and threw my very first drumstick to him first, It fell to the ground but some nice bodyguard gave it to him (weird thing cause they always fuck things up) Lars looked at it with such a big fascination, then laughed and motioned a 'not that bad' expression, then he opened his big eyes asking me: okay, ready?! He came even closer to the rail, hit the drumstick against his knee two times and threw it to me, I just grabbed it from the air, then yelled: FUCK YEAH! Lars just laughed and said: ALRIGHT THEN!!! He put my drumstick in a safe place and after that, gave away the other 3 drumsticks. I got the first one :)) I'm surprised he's not giving too many drumsticks away now. I'm pretty sure he didn't give more than 4 for each show. Weird thing, though.

Nicole was waiting For the armband. James threw it to her, but we couldn't see where it fell, we were freaking out, until we saw it was on the floor, I told the security guard to pick it up and give it to her, but he fucked it up and threw it to the crowd. I just thought: FUCKING ASSHOLE.

She was so pissed off! I told her to try again on the remaining shows. So I hope she will.

I have a week off to recover and feel better cause at the moment I'm feeling like crap.

Couldn't take pictures with my iPhone and I didnt bring the camera to the show cause Brisbane was a fucking hell. I'll try in Melbourne.

Brisbane, Australia - Day 2.

I tried to sleep on my flight to Brisbane but it was quite impossible as my seat partners were too loud.

I landed in a hot Brissy day. Got off the airport and tried to get to the polish buds' hotel: Novotel. I asked at the information desk and they told me to take the Orange bus. I payed 5 bucks just to get to the international terminal cause the driver told me that on saturdays the service to the Village started at 9 am and it was just 7 am, I obviously lost those 5 bucks. Then got to the internacional terminal, wrote a text to Piotr saying that i would see him at the show. Same thing with Alex, my australian friend, I asked him to call me in any case cause he was supposed to take my bags to his hostel.

I took the train to Bowen Hills, a return ticket costed me 30 fucking bucks. RATS, RATS, RATS. Anyway, I got there and after a long while being walking, I got to the main entry. Alex got there in an hour. He took my bags and then we bought some drinks cause the day was hot as hell.

We went to the line again and managed to the front row. We had to run as fast as we could cause everyone was planning to stay the whole day for Metallica. Fortunately, my legs didn't dissapoint me at all as I was the first one catching the best spot at the rail. Alex just got next to me.

The polish buds got behind me at midday, being with them again was super nice. I had missed them a lot. During the day, Kasia stood next to me, while other people went over us fainted. Bullet For my Valentine and Stone Sour shows were fucking hardcore, the pushing was terrible, I couldn't even breath. Luckily, we were given tons of water For free, so that helped a lot.

Around 6 pm, Farzad got to the rail and I was happy to see him again. We couldnt talk that much cause there were people in between.

By the time when Metallica was about to hit the stage, I was completely destroyed, worried about my body and feeling like crap. The punishment against the rail was too much. Kasia, Alex and me were all fucked up, but the worst was truly yet to come.

When Ecstasy of Gold started, the pushing went even worse than previously in the day. I really thought that I wouldn't be able to survive during the show.

During hit the lights, I was so happy to be there again in front of my heroes, but I couldn't enjoy any of it cause I passed like 20 people over me just in that song. It was a fucking war and the end was 2 hours away. Same thing happened during the next 3 songs. Things got quiet during Harvie, hearing that song was awesome, I had been looking forward to it for a while.

Before Sanitarium, Alex left the rail cause he was feeling too bad. He said that he would meet me at the booth.

During Sanitarium, Lars found me on the crowd, he just gave a warm look with a huge smile on his face. I got a couple of shout outs during Sad, Justice and One.

Before Sandman, Kasia left the rail as well. She was about to faint, fortunately, she got out on time.

After Seek, the boys said good bye, Lars came closer, pointed at me, touched his heart and blew me a kiss. Thanked me and Piotr for travelling. At that point, we knew te whole trip was worthy. Piotr had a big smile on his face and I was probably on another planet. I had been missing Lars for so long that having the chance of seeing again was pretty amazing. I still can't believe how nice he is with me all the time, like, to every show that I've been to so far, there has been always something. I just feel blessed having such a nice and down to earth guy as hero. I couldn't love him more than what I do, probably.

After the show, completely wet, we started moving, took a few pictures with everyone and then found Alex at the booth. Me and the polish buds went to his Hostel to pick up my stuff, then took the train to the nearest station to their hotel and then just took a taxi. I splitted into their hotel room, took a shower and literally died over the bed.

i just had 4 hours to sleep. Sydney was next!

Sydney, Australia - Day 1

The flight was good. Flying brought a lot of memories back, the european tour days on the road, on airports, or whatever, but this time I felt like missing something, or someone.

I arrived in Sydney at 07.25 am, walked out of the plane and followed the rest.
I had to stand in a huge line for passport control, it was quite easy: a nice police lady asked me where I was planning to stay, I said Strattons Hostel (not!) and she said it was okay. Then, went to pick up my backpack and met Dan (my seat partner) again. He suggested me to go and get a sim card for OZ, so we walked out of the baggage claim section and went through international police with any trouble.

Once at the arrivals hall, I found myself in between of people from different corners of the world, it was the first time that I actually saw so many cultures mixed. There were A LOT of Asian people. Pretty cool thing.

We went to Vodaphone's desk and got a sim card For free, i charged it with 10 bucks. Two minutes later, trying to put the sim card on, I looked in front of me and some big tattoed arms looked pretty familiar to me, I looked up and it was Kerry King from Slayer!!! I was holding like 3 bags at the time that taking pictures didn't cross my mind at all, plus, I don't even like Slayer, but it was cool though.

Dan had to leave so we said good bye to each other. Then everything went bored and i spent the rest of the morning on my iPhone doing nothing. I had to buy one adaptor to charge the battery. 12.50$ it's a bit expensive, isn't it? I'm gonna need it for the rest of the trip anyway.

At 1 pm, I went to the international departures section. Found a socket and stayed there loading my iphone's battery For about two hours.

I got lunch at Macca's (oh yes, how surprising) and then went to the seats section. I seated there cause there was dude playing his guitar and i was bored to hell, so I asked him and he lended me his guitar. Then we started talking. He was Pierre, from France, he has been waiting for his girlfriend who's coming from
Paris as well, so we started talking, got a couple of drinks and the afternoon wasn't that bad, a guitar in my hands made things better.

At around 7 pm, another french dude joined us. He is staying during the night as well, so he and Pierre started talking in french and i just fell asleep For 3 hours (not bad at all for an airport nap, ha!)

Now it's 5 minutes to 23.00 pm and we might be kick out of the airport, if that's the case, I'll have to walk to the domestic terminal and find a 24/7 Macca's to spend the night in.

My flight to Brisbane is 7 hours away from me. Can't wait to meet Piotr and Kasia again and my beloved friends from Aussie! It's gonna be a blast.

Less than 24 hours to see the boys in action again!

P.S: I'm making updates from my iPhone since I didn't bring my laptop. Pics are shitty, but it's something.

Australia 2013!

It's been a while since I last published something.

I'll start writing in english so it'll be easy for everybody to understand, I guess.

Last time I didn't have enough time to write about each experience; marvelous and remarkable experiences I must say. I never finished writing about 'The Full Arsenal Shows' at least, I could write about the first 4 shows, which were pretty cool, but the others went great as well.

This year and this time, particularly, I'll try to write everything down, every detail so I won't forget about it later.

Within 5 days, I'll head off to Australia to see 5 shows in 5 different cities. Metallica will be headlining the Soundwaves Festivals which are pretty well known as one of the most popular festivals within Australia.

It'll be so nice to meet Farzad and Ange again, friends that I met in Mexico during the Full Arsenal shows. Pretty cool dudes. I'll also meet a couple of friends that I've 'sort of met' on PPM and Facebook.

It will surely be a blast. I'll try to make as many updates as I can.

Keep looking here so you won't miss the whole experience!!

5 DAYS TO GO!
